This after 14 people were arrested for breach of health and curfew restrictions in the last 24-hours. Acting Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu said out of the 14 reports, eight involved juveniles under the age of 18 years. He said four juveniles were arrested along Nakasi Road for failing to wear a mask. “Four juveniles aged 15 and 16 years were arrested for social gathering as they were found drinking alcohol at a school compound in Narere,” A/CP Tudravu said.

Picture: SERAFINA SILAITOGA Former prime minister and National Farmers Union general secretary Mahendra Chaudhry has called on the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) to inform stakeholders, including farmers, about crushing progress. He said so far, the Labasa mill was believed to have crushed 15,000 tonnes of cane over the past three weeks which was 5000 tonnes per week. “The average weekly crush so far at this mill is about 5000 tonnes which is well below the normal weekly rate of 25,000 to 30,000 tonnes per week,” Mr Chaudhry said.

This includes 110 packs that were distributed in Lami, Suva, Nasinu and Nausori while 17 packs were delivered to families in the Lautoka area. The government says until now, they have delivered 2,975 packs to Fijians in home isolation in Lami, Suva, Nasinu and Nausori areas and 164 packs to Fijians in home isolation in Lautoka and Ba areas.
